WHAT IT IS:
A 2 step starter kit. Contains 15 ml Vit C Serum and 15 ml hydrating enhancer serum.
WHAT IT DOES:
Vitamin C helps to plump skin, improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improves appearance of age spots/hyperpigmentation and encourages production of collagen. The Enhancer Serum helps with hydration & better absorption of the C serum.
HOW TO USE:
Cleanse skin. Allow skin to dry thoroughly. Then apply 2-3 drops of the High Potency Serum to face, neck & chest. Allow to dry for at least 1 minute. Then apply 2-3 drops of the Hydra 5 B Complex to face, neck & chest.
INGREDIENTS:
CELLEX-C HIGH-POTENCY SERUM
HYDRA 5 B-COMPLEX CELLEX-C ENHANCER
MY REVIEW:
I have tried multiple brands of Vit C serums. I have tried SkinCeuticals, Timeless, Ole Henrickson, Kiehl’s, DERMAdoctor, Paula’s Choice & a few others (but I can’t remember the names). I am undecided as to which brand I prefer because as you may know, I suffer from melasma. Sometimes I may think the serums are working well, then I step out of a hot shower or my hormone levels are off and my melasma is darker. So for me, C serums don’t necessarily help me with hyperpigmentation. I do notice a bit of a glow and my skin appears to look firmer and more youthful. I always use my C serums in the morning. I also like to allow my C serums to penetrate for as long as possible before applying the rest of my skincare. And I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS apply sunscreen as my last step (especially if you are using a C serum).
I 1st received this full size Cellex C 2-step starter kit in a beauty box subscription. I really enjoyed it. It didn’t break me out, which was HUGE. I really liked the 2-steps. The 2nd enhancer step was hydrating, not in a greasy way, but in a “I just drank a glass of water” kinda way. Plus it helps the Vit C to penetrate better. I like the ingredients as well. The C serum texture is thin and watery. It is not clear in color, which is really the only thing about this that I don’t like because I can’t tell when it goes bad. It has a very slight yellow tint to it but barely noticeable. The hydrating serum is clear but has a thicker gel-like texture. Both of them have virtually no scent at all. Neither of them are sticky or tacky once applied to my skin. Plus they are oil free. My skin felt smooth and clean after application and was prepared for the rest of my skincare. Some C serums have a sticky feel and this did not.
I used up the Cellex C 2-Step Starter Kit I received in the beauty box I purchased and since I liked it so much, I recently purchased another one. I was going to experiment and try another Vit C brand but I wanted to give this brand another try. The product retails for around $110.00 but I had a 20% off coupon when I bought it online. C serums are pricey but in my opinion are worth every penny in the long run.
